Chapter three · The proposal

Proposal Letter

Ifemi, Ayomi, Idunu-mi, Olori Ade, Adeife,

For 16 years have I known you, 13 years I have liked you, 11 years have we been friends and best of friends for 4 years now; just like wine, it keeps getting better with time.

In all these years, you have made me a better person in more ways than I can count. And how best can I describe you if not Proverbs 31:10–31? I have loved you for the vast majority of my life, and I am ready to do even more for the remaining part of it.

Oluwababy, let’s do this ‘lovin lovin’ thing for life na, abi kilo feel? Ehnn, bami-soro baby. Cause the joy and peace I feel around you has no bound, and I will want us to have and to build TOGETHER in the way God has ordained it to be FOREVER.

I guess what I am trying to say is:

Oluwakemi Augustina Ayomikun Oluwaremilekun Olumayegun,

WILL YOU MARRY ME?

Yours sincerely,

Your Loving Husband-to-be.
